Selegal is a tidally-locked, mid-tech industrial world. With its inability to grow adequate food for its citizens, the government is forced to import most of it. This has negatively affected the world’s economy, so much so its Dictator, supported by the world’s leading industrialists (who control the government) are considering an expansion into neighboring worlds in order to provide for its 8.9 billion citizens. This would also greatly relieve strain on the world’s industrial complex, improving both living conditions and profits.
Before these goals can be accomplished, however, the world’s starport facilities must be greatly improved. Then a fleet must be constructed. And then a Navy trained. This requires money and resources, something which the system currently lacks. To attempt to facilitate this, the government and major industrialists have established mining operations on several worlds in the companion system. The success of these efforts is, so far, disappointing, and the strain on Selegal’s economy is starting to show (food shortages, worker strikes, and so forth). Outside observers familiar with the situation are speculating as to the long term effects on the system. Several are predicting economic collapse within ten years, while others foresee a common rebellion within that same timeframe. What actually will occur remains to be seen.

Astute readers of science fiction may recognize this system name, and rightly so. This name was unashamedly borrowed from a great series which Heavily influenced the Traveller RPG – The Dumarest Saga, written by E. C. Tubb from 1967 to 2008.

Hiverlord's Hijinks 
Similar to the Moon orbiting Earth. It’s rotation speed (“Day”) is the same length as its orbit period, so one side is always facing the star (or the planet or orbits, in some cases).
The Tidal Zone (Tz) is a swath of land across the equator which can be somewhat habitable, in the right conditions.
