Broome is another rich, agricultural garden world whose citizens enjoy a high standard of living. They have sufficient technology available to make life easy, and enjoy a wide range of diversions.
The world’s economy is supplemented by mining the rich planetoid deposits in the system’s three large planetoid belts.
The colonists on the large world in the system’s ninth orbit are Heavy Worlders – humans modified to thrive in heavy gravity conditions. This colony owes allegiance to the government of Broome, but in reality is independent; no one else can endure the world’s crushing gravity for long, even with technological assistance, so they are effectively free to pursue their own interests. These mainly consist of keeping to themselves and living their lives.

This is my 22nd hand-generated “System of the Day” using the Traveller5 rules. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.

This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E. C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to the name; I am only using it as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
