There is little to recommend Dreen as a tourist or commercial stopover, and fewer ships would call here, if the system wasn’t on a main trade route. The system’s single gas giant is in a distant orbit, and this brings revenue to the port; it is much easier to make the very short trip from the jump point to the port, instead of attempting frontier refueling at the distant gas giant.

The system’s two planetoid belts are thin, and mainly composed of ice chunks and a scattering of other types. Groups of independent belt miners have established their own “governments” in attempts to keep their larger (and more powerful) corporate rivals from muscling in. They have little reason to worry, as no deposits have been found to draw their interest. This could change, however, if a significant deposit is located.

Beyond the gas giant, there is little to recommend the system. It is populated by frozen planets of no real value, with most lying so far out, the cost to survey them is likely greater than the value of any potential finds.

This is my 36th hand-generated “System of the Day” using the Traveller5 rules. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.
———————————————————-
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E. C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to the name; I am only using it as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
———————————————————-
This system was generated by hand with a set of dice I have owned for over 30 years, using the Traveller5 rules. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns, but please do not publish them for profit, nor publish without obtaining prior permission. Thank you!

As always, comments and input are appreciated. Keep On Travelling!
