Nyne was settled for its strategic location, as well as its unique atmospheric chemical composition. Life on Nyne is good, as long as you can ignore the threat of occasional system failures; atmospheric conditions can cause a failure in a moment’s notice, as with any insidious or corrosive environment. All citizens are well trained in emergency procedures, and pride themselves on their general readiness. Although the world does allow some weapons to be carried, few residents do so; the risk of an accident always on their minds.

The starport has a minimal orbital component, mainly for passenger and cargo transfer. The bulk of the port is located in a low-lying, but solid mountain on the world’s surface. Here, few new ships are constructed. The yard’s main business is overhauls, upgrades, and the occasional refit. The yard is not known for its efficiency, but does perform decent work, when compared to many yards in the region.

Nyne maintains a small but competent defense force, mainly to keep pirates out of the system. Few problems have occured in recent years.

This is my 40th hand-generated “System of the Day” using the Traveller5 rules. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.0
———————————————————-
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E. C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to the name; I am only using it as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
———————————————————-
This system was generated by hand with a set of dice I have owned for over 30 years, using the Traveller5 rules. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns, but please do not publish them for profit, nor publish without obtaining prior permission. Thank you!

As always, comments and input are appreciated. Keep On Travelling!
