Cicarro is a hot, tidally-locked, resource poor world of some importance. The world’s government has committed itself to improving the planet’s atmosphere and hydrographics coverage; they are in the early stages of terraforming the planet via ice planetoid “bombardment”. This effort has greatly affected the world’s economy, and it is already beginning to show signs of strain, as import ratios have flip-flopped. The once productive economy is now becoming burdoned under a heavy debt load, as well as the dislocations required, moving people out of the impact areas for safety reasons. Most involved in planning this massive project believe the effort will pay off in the long run, but there are a number of well informed detractors. Time will tell what occurs.
To assist with this herculean project, all three of the system’s planetoid belts have been extensively colonized. The main reason for this is resources; many ice asteroids have been located, and long term efforts are underway to correctly change their course, so they will properly impact the planet. Another is living space, getting some of the citizens out of harm’s way, so to speak. And it is believed having the workers on site in the belts will facilitate the project.
One aspect of this project makes computations extremely difficult: the proximity of Cicarro to its primary star. Though this is a smaller star, it still heavily impacts trajectories, and makes computing proper paths very, very difficult. Great quantities of data and computing power are required.

ADVENTURING OPPORTUNITIES. These are only ideas for potential adventures in this system. Each will need to be fleshed out by the GM if used.
1 – SOS / SIGNAL GK! A ship jumping into the system has misjumped. The unfortunate vessel is stranded, as its engines are heavily damaged, and it is in the path of an oncoming ice planetoid. The players have the only vessel which can possibly assist in time. Can our heroes save the ship, or at least its passengers and crew?
2 – SABOTAGE. The players are secretly hired to alter the trajectory of an ice planetoid. The individual who hires them has detailed technical data on the ice chunk’s course and target area. He requires them to sneak onto the planetoid, and place a series of explosives in precise locations. He assures them this will cause the planetoid to miss the planet completely. He claims to be affiliated with a group opposed to the folly of this project, which they claim is destroying the world’s economy and ecology with no real benefit. Will the players do the job? Will they determine whether or not the information they’ve been given is correct? Will altering the planetoid’s path actually cause it to miss the planet, or will it cause great destruction? And can the players avoid being labelled as terrorists if this occurs?
3- DISASTER. The players are on Cicarro when disaster strikes: a planetoid drop was miscalculated, or something has occured which altered its path slightly. Whatever the cause, the ice planetoid has impacted a settled region. Many have been killed, and many more will die if rescue efforts aren’t begun immediately. The players either volunteer or are drafted into the relief efforts.

This system was generated by hand, using a set of dice I have owned for over 30 years, and using the Traveller5 (T5) rules set. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns. Permission is granted to publish these results, as long as the copyrights of Far Future Enterprises are not violated, and no money is charged for them.
