The world of Chamia is itself rather uninteresting, being a poor, hellish, hot world with few resources. The world’s 1 million or so residents endure the heat as best they can, and ignore the mandates of the ineffective government. The populace is spread out in several outlying cities and towns, centered on the few somewhat potable water sources.

The real attraction in the system is the lightning blasted stormworld the next orbit in (#5). Called Hellion by locals, this world suffers from intense lightning storms, fueled by the world’s particle filled atmosphere, heat, and solar radiation.

Hellion has two rings systems. Several times a year, Hellion’s atmosphere produces storms so intense lightning strikes from the planet into the lower ring system. This is a spectacular display, and one which has become a tourist attraction with the region’s tourists. These storms are, however, unpredictable in occurrence. It is not uncommon, therefore, to see at least one tourist vessel or yacht in close orbit for waiting for such a storm to form. The closer the ship is to the planet, the better the view, of course. This is not without its dangers, however; several ships have been hit, and destroyed, by these very same lightning strikes.

It almost goes without saying that few ships have attempted to land on Hellion’s surface – and only a handful are known to have succeeded. Of these, only two have been confirmed to have made it off the planet afterwards, and both were heavily damaged. The videos they provided are the stuff of legend, however.
