Gabotune is a rich, important, balkanized world. Its four governments are roughly equal in population levels, so there is no one dominant culture. Each of these cultures is “unique” in comparison to the others, though sometimes these differences can be difficult for outsiders to spot. In spite of the world’s higher technology, there is a distinct “backwoods” or rustic feel. Even the world’s larger cities feel more like suburbs.
As stated, Gabotune is a rich world, with agriculture fueling the society’s wealth. Gabotune’s farms and ranches help feed several nearby worlds. The wealth brought in by agriculture fuels a vibrant, if rustic, arts scene, which is becoming popular with tourists, as well as some off world collectors. Gabotune is also renouned for its universities, which specialize in agricultural fields, as well as agri-business. Much of the world is still “wild”, in that little development has occurred. Much of these areas are in rougher, or drier, regions, being less suited for agriculture, though some minor ranching is performed.
Gabotune’s stellar system is noticably lacking in stellar bodies, even though there are two stars. The very distant companion star has a single planet orbitting it. Both the star and the frozen planet are theorized to be captured bodies. Even with so few planets and moons, the system has a good range of potential resources, which the local goverments are reserving for future need – mainly because they haven’t reach agreement on how they should be divied up.
