Ayette is a cold, important, agricultural world, which supplies vast quantities of cold-resistant grains to nearby systems, along with high quality smoked meats from its wide ranging ranches. The society’s high technology allows for great efficiency in its farming and ranching operations.

Ayette’s few industries are geared towards supporting local agricultural operations. Thus the world’s trade goods are almost entirely agricultural in nature. Most exports are hauled on dedicated local freighters, though there are usually smaller, specialized cargoes available for purchase.

The local starport is smaller, but of high quality, and does not construct starships. It was built specifically to maintain visiting cargo haulers, as well as the system’s numerous shuttle craft. A number of high tech SDBs patrol the local traffic lanes, with occasional jaunts out to New Ayette, as well as the system’s two gas giants. Note that at least 25% of the local shuttle fleet is armed as a deterrent to piracy and other forms of aggression. Some reports indicate the percentage may be closer to 50%, though this is unverified.

New Ayette was settled for its similarity to Ayette, though it is much colder. The settlers had hoped to find an inexpensive, productive way to planetform the world, but so far this is proving to be, “rather difficult”. The colony is surviving, and even prospering, however, with the recent discovery of industrial grade crystals, deep within a remote cavern system.

This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
