Izhma is a generally resource-poor system, with few usable/livable worlds. The world’s 7.3 billion people are divided between two societies with 3.4 and 3.9 billion citizens.
Because the system is poor in resources, the early colonists learned to be very efficient with the available resources. This trend has continued to the current day, with Izhma being known as one of the most efficient societies in the region. Unfortunately, the lack of resources has inhibited technological development, and the world’s industries lag far behind the capabilities of other societies in the region. This has not hampered the local industries too much, as they are known not only for their efficiency, but also for their innovative techniques. Admittedly some of these techniques have been acquired from higher tech worlds, but they’ve adapted them quite well to their needs. There are some analysts who’ve speculated, if the local industries can obtain better/more reliable sources of raw materials, they will be able to outproduce nearby worlds, and increase their tech base at the same time. Unfortunately, gaining the needed raw materials in the quantities needed seems to be an almost impossible task. Some might believe the nearby systems are working against them…

This is my 127th hand-generated “System of the Day” entry, using the Traveller5 (T5) rules, from Far Future Enterprises. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.
——————————
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).

This system was generated by hand, using a set of dice I have owned for over 30 years, and using the Traveller5 (T5) rules set. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns. Permission is granted to publish these results, as long as the copyrights of Far Future Enterprises are not violated, and no money is charged for them.
