The world Hope began its (settled) existence as a refueling stop along a productive colony/trade route, and has since expanded into a world of minor local importance. The world’s atmospheric taint, consisting mainly of various pollens and pollutants, have always inhibited expansion of the world’s population; too much effort is required to keep the pollen out of structural atmospheres, and several pollens are extremely aggressive, inhibiting introduction of flora and fauna more suited for human use.
Although known for its aggressive atmospheric pollen which inhibits many functions on the world, Hope is mainly known for its aggressive and cost effective starship upkeep programs. Within the region it is a major stopover for vessels needing repairs, upkeep, and refurbishment. Though there are higher tech worlds in the region, Hope’s industries import many needed, higher tech components to support its ship programs, and manages to keep costs down through a series of aggressive business deals. Any financial losses from these deals is made up for in the shipyard’s volume of activity; the yards are always busy, though wait times are usually minimal; the yards are the true focus of the world’s industries, and every effort has been made to streamline the process whenever feasible.
Hope maintains a small defense fleet, mainly centered around picket ships and small patrol craft. These craft are maintained to higher TL standards, usually TL 11.
NOTE: These systems, as generated, are generic. Referees will need to modify the system and descriptions to fit their campaign needs.

This is my 129th hand-generated “System of the Day” entry, using the Traveller5 (T5) rules, from Far Future Enterprises. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
This system was generated by hand, using a set of dice I have owned for over 30 years, and using the Traveller5 (T5) rules set. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns. Permission is granted to publish these results, as long as the copyrights of Far Future Enterprises are not violated, and no money is charged for them.
As always, comments and input are appreciated.
KEEP ON TRAVELLING!
