An unimportant desert world orbiting a hot star, Itrion’s populace is roughly equally divided between two governments which have slowly, painfully learned to cooperate. There have been wars in the world’s past – indeed, the world would be much more populous if it weren’t for these wars – though no war has occurred in the last 15 years. There is still a rather aggressive “cold war” in progress between them, which continues to affect trade with other systems. All attempts to negotiate an end to the disagreements have had no noticeable effect, but the effort continues, aided by negotiators from nearby systems.
A number of other worlds in the system have been settled, mainly by refugees from Itrion seeking to avoid further bloodshed. These worlds have slowly developed over time, and combined have a greater impact on regional trade than Itrion. Itrion is, however, still the largest economy of the settlements, and likely will be for the near future – especially if the governments can set aside their differences.
