Though it has a low population, Ticides is an important world in the region, lying at an important junction on local trade routes. The world’s starport was built to accommodate this traffic. The downport itself is small, while the orbiting facility is quite extensive. Ticides’ moon may be small (barely qualifying as size “1”), but is covered in extensive ice fields. Its size in comparison to Ticides creates impressive “quakes” on the world – another factor keeping most people in orbit. It is considered fortunate the moon’s orbit is a distant one.
The rest of the system is relatively untouched, as there are few mineral resources of note, and no worlds worth the effort of colonizing. Until recent years, Ticides suffered occasional attacks by pirates in the region. However, a concerted effort, combined with assistance from nearby systems, seems to have ended the problem. The shattered remains of several pirate outposts can still be seen on several out system moons.
