Orome is located near several major worlds. The world, and most of the system is VERY rich in resources. The system is ruthlessly controlled by a single corporation, which is efficiently, systematically mining the worlds of this system, shipping the ores to nearby industrial and rich worlds. The profits are so great, the corporation maintains a fleet of patrol craft. These vessels are well armed, with good sensors and armor, with well-trained crews. Ships which violate the company’s restrictions are subject to boarding and inspection. Those found to be violating the company’s rules are impounded, and used for the company’s projects. Its crews are imprisoned, and put to work in the system’s mines. The long term survival rate for these prisoners is not lengthy.
So far, the company’s efforts have been concentrated on Orome itself, though the company is beginning heavily expand its operations onto other worlds in the system.
