A minor system near a minor trade route, Llone is a world with a promising future. Recent discoveries of high grade ores in Llone’s two planetoid belts have increased interest in the system, and a number of independent belt miners and small companies have moved into the system. Early reports indicate there could be high levels of ore in these belts; this is a good possibility, as no known survey of the system has ever been completed beyond the basics (world locations, etc).
These discoveries have also drawn interest of a more dubious nature… pirate activity is increasing in nearby systems, with reports indicating several larger pirate groups  may be heading towards Llone. If these rumors/reports are correct, the results will not be good for the locals, as the government of Llone has little in the way of defenses, and only a handful of patrol craft (all of these being small craft). There are reports the government may soon be offering contracts to various mercenary units in the region; as the government currently has little money available, these units (if hired) would probably be paid in a percentage of the system’s future profits. This bodes quite well for the future of whatever unit may be hired – assuming they can handle the pirate fleets rumored to be en route.
