Beron is a minor world. Located near an important trade route, the world was settled as a stop-over and refueling point. Beron has never “taken off” as a settlement; the world has a high gravity, and the thin atmosphere is bordering on the very thin classification.  Combined with the relative lack of water (refueling from the world’s water bodies is illegal here), these factors have limited interest in settling the world. Thus Beron’s economy and infrastructure are entirely centered around the starport.
There are few other worlds drawing much interest in the system, either. Each has some issue which deflects interest away from potential colonization. The system has not been fully surveyed, either, leading to speculation there may be significant deposits of useful minerals in the system, waiting to be discovered and exploited.
In the past, Beron has had some issues with pirate groups. The low population and good starport drew them in as a potential support base. However, Beron maintains “just enough” defenses to have kept them away; the pirates could probably have taken over, but the cost in ship damage would have been too great; that, and they learned the locals have the starport rigged to explode under certain conditions… this was more than enough to deter them from making a serious takeover attempt.

NOTE: These systems, as generated, are generic. Referees will need to modify the system and descriptions to fit their campaign needs.
