Kumetat is a minor agricultural world, orbiting a cool star. Kumetat has four governments. Over the centuries these governments have had varying levels of cooperation, and some open warfare. Currently they are at peace, though tensions are rising, and there has been a ‘cold war’ operating for some time. It is expected that the two larger governments, which share a long, if difficult, border, will come into open conflict within the next few years.
All four governments have been importing weapons and defensive systems from nearby worlds for a number of years now, and the strain on the local economies is beginning to show, though the two larger governments are by far worse off than the others, according to some recent news reports. It is feared by some that the world is poised to enter a severe economic depression soon. If this were to occur before these two nations begin to fight, it may prevent the war, but could ultimately be a worse result for Kumetat overall.

This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
