Tleka Kroni is another low population, backwater system. With a hot primary star, thin atmosphere, little water, and few resources in the system, there is little to draw potential settlers or investment. As there is no easy source of starship fuel within the system, the poorly maintained starport is able to earn enough credits in fuel surcharges to remain afloat.
There are very few laws here (or laws which are enforced), and the people here tend to go about their business without fear of interference. The single exception to this is a law prohibiting refueling of any space vessel in one of the world’s bodies of water. This is enforced by a series of well placed, high tech gun emplacements, which are armed with much higher tech space weaponry and sensors – all of which were acquired from violators of this law. About one half of the world’s residents live in or near the capital city (which is, of course, also where the starport is located), with the remainder being scattered around the world in various pursuits, such as mining, gem hunting, and hunting.
