Estalle is yet another unimportant frontier agricultural world. What sets Estalle apart from the others is its government – specifically its 47 governments. Early in its history there was great dissension among the world’s growing population; many proposals were made regarding future government, but all proposals were rejected by at least half of the voters.
Ultimately, after several minor conflicts and assorted local incidents, the world settled into a system of local government. Each of Estalle’s 47 listed regions is a separate government entity, with from 1 to 3 million citizens. Each has its own minor spaceport, paying small upkeep and access fees to a starport committee. This system works surprisingly well; each region appears to be well run, local problems are minimal in most cases, crime is low – even environmental problems are almost non-existent.
One drawback to this system of government is the lack of technological development. No one on Estelle is complaining, however, as there are generally few restrictions on leaving the world, and life here is good.
Each government/region on Estalle is generally known for ‘something’; usually, this is an agricultural specialty, unique product, tourist attraction, or social quirk. One region is known as, “The Most Boring Place on Estalle”; curiously, it is one of the most visited locations on the planet – unusual given the location’s extreme distance from the main starport. It takes visitors ten days on average to reach the location via train and steamship.
Overall the system has average resources, according to the last survey. There are two small groups of independent miners in the outer system, one of which has established a small government to protect its interests. Little about them is known on Estalle itself, and these operations appear to generate noticeable quantities of common ores.

NOTE: These systems, as generated, are generic. Referees will need to modify the system and descriptions to fit their campaign needs.

This is my 219th hand-generated “System of the Day” entry, using the Traveller5 (T5) rules, from Far Future Enterprises. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.
——————————
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).

This system was generated by hand, using my new Traveller dice and the Traveller5 (T5) rules set. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns. Permission is granted to publish these results, as long as the copyrights of Far Future Enterprises are not violated, and no money is charged for them.

As always, comments and input are appreciated.
KEEP ON TRAVELLING!
