Lyten is a backwater, underpopulated system. The world’s tech level is listed as interstellar-capable (TL 9); the reality is the system’s few inhabitants have some decaying high tech gear, left over from a passing starship. The inhabitants are realistically capable of supporting a TL of around 6.
As can be guessed, there is little about Lyten to garner much attention. There isn’t much of an atmosphere, what weather there is is rather cold, and there are no known deposits of useful minerals to be found – though a true survey of the system has never been conducted to anyone’s knowledge. Even pirates in the region avoid the place.

This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
