Schill is an unimportant, low population world. Orbiting a common dwarf star, it is tidally locked, with one side of the planet permanently facing the star. This is almost irrelevant to its inhabitants, of course; with an unbreathable atmosphere few people leave their sealed habitats except when necessary.
Schill doesn’t have much of an economy. Its main exports are various chemicals, extracted from the world’s oceans; it is less expensive to extract, purify, and ship these chemicals, than it is to manufacture them on other worlds, in most cases. The world imports most of its food, though it does have some specialized hydroponics tanks in operation. There are no other industries of note; the population is too low to support much else. The world’s starport is nothing special, but is capable of minor repairs, and supplies unrefined fuel at standard cost.
There are a number of small mining operations and settlements scattered throughout the system. As with Schill, they are reliant upon outside support.

This is my 250th hand-generated “System of the Day” entry, using the Traveller5 (T5) rules, from Far Future Enterprises. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.

This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
