Yun-Dun is a wet world, with 96% of its surface covered by oceans. It is also an important world, popular with tourists, who come for its “island life” and fishing. The world itself is a satellite, orbiting a large, uninhabitable world with a corrosive atmosphere. While the world itself is uninviting, its colorful atmosphere and oceans provide some wonderful viewing, making it a popular nighttime activity with tourists.
As mentioned, Yun-Dun is popular with those who like to fish. There is both coastal fishing and deep sea fishing available to tourists. Deep sea fishing is only permitted with licensed guides, however, as some of the local sea life can be, “rather dangerous”. Local guides are experienced at avoiding most of the unpleasantries brought on by some of these lifeforms, and all are well trained in techniques (ie, well armed) to discourage attacks.
As a popular tourist destination, Yun-Dun has also become popular with a certain form of space entity – ie, pirates. Hostage-taking is still popular in the region, and with a large number of wealthy visitors the area has become prone to occasional raids. To combat this, the local government has begun arming a small local navy. This effort is in its early stages, however, and its effectiveness is being called into question by the tourist industry. Calls to “hire mercenaries instead” have been scoffed at by the government, which cited recent cases of mercenary “over-reaction” in nearby systems.
