Cavol is a poor world. Those citizens not affiliated with the ruling elite classes in some manner are not well off, though they are not desperate, either. Most residents reside in a series of fairly large sealed cities, while the elite live in large, separate, well-protected mansions. The main source of income in the system is a series of well-run chemical extraction facilities on the system’s lone big world (orbit #3), which is owned and run by the system’s elite. Due to conditions on Cavol, a fairly large police force is maintained. In addition a strong local patrol fleet (mainly a number of system defense boats and cutters) maintains safety for merchant traffic.
New Cavol, in the system’s first orbital position, is a hot colony world, established by Cavol’s elite to provide food for the system. As an agricultural world with lower technology (purposely kept low to prevent possible revolution by workers), living here is actually preferable to life on Cavol; at least here you can breath the atmosphere, even if temperatures tend to remain at the upper level of human endurance, even in the system’s twilight/temperate zone. In addition to the agricultural activities, the elite of Cavol maintain a number of private estates here.
The operational setup over the system’s big world in orbit #3 are primarily robotic. A well defended orbital facility oversees operations on the planet’s surface, with a team of engineers and professionals operating from the station.
NOTE: These systems, as generated, are generic. Referees will need to modify the system and descriptions to fit their campaign needs.

This is my 257th hand-generated “System of the Day” entry, using the Traveller5 rules, from Far Future Enterprises. My goal is to publish one random system per day in 2020.
This world’s name was taken from that great scifi book series, The Dumarest Saga, written by E.C. Tubb, and published from 1967 to 2008. I make no claim to this world name; I use it only as an homage to a series which heavily influenced me (and, according to legend, Traveller itself).
This system was generated by hand, using my new Traveller dice and the Traveller5 rules set. Feel free to use this system in your own campaigns. Permission is granted to publish these results, as long as the copyrights of Far Future Enterprises are not violated, and no money is charged for them.
As always, comments and input are appreciated.
KEEP ON TRAVELLING!
