I’Rigi is a fairly important water world. The world’s tainted atmosphere, normally a detriment to humans, feeds a unique ecosystem with interesting aquatic lifeforms. Many of these can be consumed by humans, and have unique flavors, and even colors, due to the atmospheric taint. Farming and fishing industries associated with these unique creatures form a large portion of the world’s economy. The vast majority of the world’s oceanic life, however, makes for very poor sport fishing, and I’Rigi does not have much of a sport fishing industry to speak of. The island chains of the world, however, are beautiful, drawing in many tourists. Indeed, I’Rigi has become a popular honeymoon destination for residents of nearby worlds.
Two of the system’s three planetoid belts are located in extremely distant orbits. In addition the planetoids in them are spread out; it can take days to travel between planetoids in these belts. There are only a handful of settlements in each, and they are located within a few days travel of each other. The farther reaches of these belts are not yet fully surveyed, or even mapped.
