Drathi C’Gouza (normally called Drath by everyone other than stuffy government officials and news reporters who wish to stay out of trouble) is a world orbiting a large star, in a system with few water sources. Of the available sources, the nearest to “Drath” is in the system’s eighth orbit, an unbearably hot world. The government has set up a subsidized water “farming” operation here, supported by technicians and guarded by competent military elements. A group of pirates attempted to hold the water facilities hostage a number of years ago. The attempt was defeated, but only after significant damage was done to the facilities, creating great hardship back on Drath. Ever since, the government has maintained significant forces here to prevent further such attempts.
Drathi C’Gouza itself is a fairly important work, and is becoming known for various industries and specialties. One such specialty technology is its ground-based sensor technology. The world has great experience dealing with interference from several sources, namely the system’s star, as well as its interesting atmosphere, and it has continuously applied this experience into its sensors tech. There are higher tech sensor packages available from other worlds, but Drathi’s industries claim they manufacture the best, most reliable such systems. Market sales tend to confirm this assessment.
