Telmun is a minor agricultural world. Although Telmun has a very low population, this agricultural community still manages to produce an abundance of produce for export. In particular, the community is known for a local fruit which is resistant to dry weather (of which Telmun has an abundance at times), as well as the meats and fur of various locally raised animals (most of which were not originally imported).
Telmun’s government is essentially a farming collective. The collective was originally created to promote the world’s products, as well as attempt to prevent the accidental introduction of offworld parasites, or essentially anything which could threaten local farms and production. Over the years, this collective has become more “invasive” when dealing with offworlders, especially any imports. Though the world does not possess high technology, officials are very knowledgeable, and keep a vast database of knowledge on potential dangers to the world. This expert knowledge has been useful many times, preventing the importation of a supposedly “safe” lifeform. There is also a list of “dangerous” planets, worlds who’s lifeforms pose a significant overall hazard to Telmun. All visitors to Telmun are required to list all worlds they have stepped foot on within the past year. Some answers will earn the visitor an extended visit to the (rather low tech, though effective) decontamination chambers. Some answers, on the other hand, will get the individual banned from the planet permanently (though this is extremely rare).
