Humbaba is a fairly important world. Already known for its efficient, if expensive, high tech personal weapons systems, the world’s economy has been increasing over the last several years as more credits flow into the system. With the increase in wealth has come an increase in the world’s population.
Although Humbaba’s population is still under 100 million, it has increased by over 5 million in the last three years alone. This is partially due to an increased birth rate, but has been significantly boosted by immigration, as nearby systems are dealing with rebellions, wars, and/or economic depressions. The building boom needed to house these new residents has also helped Humbaba’s economy, and it is predicted the world’s economy will continue to improve at a great pace.
Already known for its personal weapons manufacture (as mentioned above), a number of gravitic vehicle designs are becoming quite popular. While there are several military vehicles in demand, the main vehicles in demand are sports vehicles – specifically grav cycles. Grav cycle races are very, very popular on Humbaba, with an estimated 50% of residents following the sport, compared to a mere 20% following more typical sports in human space, such as zero-G ball (“grav ball”). Competition is fierce in all levels of competition, but particularly in the highest levels of the sport. There have been numerous incidences of sabotage and foul play in recent events, resulting in a number of high profile crashes and several deaths. This has only added to the appeal of the sport. Calls for increased regulation by authorities are being lauded by some, scoffed at by many more, and it remains to be see what (if any) the government’s response will be.
