Anammelech lies in an unimportant system. Although its population is very low, the world still manages to ship a decent amount of product to nearby systems. Some people claim this is because of imported higher technology, or some other means – there have even been claims the locals use slaves; this has never been proven, and is thought to be a rumor created by a rival world or company, as no evidence for the claim has ever been found. Mainly, though, the society’s productivity boils down to a good environment, and hard work.
Fully one half of its citizens are involved in agriculture in some manner, and their cooperative society does not compete against itself; generations ago the world’s government was set up as a farming cooperative. Though it has been modified somewhat, there have been only minor changes in their government system. There is very little industry here, and nearly all of it is, of course, related to agriculture.
It is unknown if the system itself has ever had a complete survey. Anammelech’s government is considering contracting a company to perform a complete system survey, though it is unknown when funds will be freed up to pay for it. There are, however, two very small operations on a pair of worlds. One (orbit #4) is a research station, being run by a university from a nearby industrial world. This station (using TL C equipment) is studying the extreme effects of this world’s violent electrical storms on various types of equipment and materials.
