The world’s infrastructure is very well developed; there is no portion of the settled areas which are without access to all necessities for civilized life (roads, electric, etc). Because of this life on Aya is fairly easy for residents, even with the tainted atmosphere.
Aya’s level of technological development has only achieved jump drive capability within the last few years, though some tech areas exceed this average (in particular, genetics and medical tech areas). The government, with the full urging of local industrial leaders (the real, unacknowledged power behind the government) is beginning to plan for upgrades and improvements to the world’s main starport, including its orbital components, which are small, crowded, and overworked. It is hoped construction can begin within the next year.
