Bondo is a minor, lower tech system. Bondo orbits in outer edge of the primary star’s habitable zone, and has a colder overall environment. However, being tidally locked there are areas of warmer climate (as long as a person doesn’t stray too far away from the twilight region). This warmer “ring” of the bright face is used extensively for farming, allowing most of the tidal zone to be utilized for living space.
Though Bondo doesn’t itself possess the technology to maintain a space program, it has partnered with a number of offworld companies, whose services are paid for with profits from the society’s two major mining operations in the system’s two planetoid belts. Enough profit margin is maintained to allow fairly easy living on the world, and the population has been increasing steadily in recent decades.
