Asherah is a backwater system. With a corrosive atmosphere and oceans, living here is “less than easy”. The entire community is located in a series of large, connected caverns. The starport is sealed against the atmosphere, and is located on a plateau nearly 2 miles above “sea level”. This makes for easier landings by visiting starships, as Asherah’s weather can be rather troublesome.
The community itself has “no laws”, though this can be misleading. There are certainly no restrictions on carrying weapons, though visitors who flaunt their armaments and cause trouble will find nearly everyone is more than capable of defending themselves. And NO ONE will put up with individuals who endanger the entire settlement; those who damage (or even threaten to damage) the community’s structural integrity will soon find themselves either dead, or being escorted to an exterior door – without protective clothing. This has happened in the communities past, though not within recent years.
