Thyoph is a hot, desert, almost barren world, with an incredibly thin atmosphere, and no surface water. A true backwater, it is surprising there are still people remaining here. A single mining operation, mining several nearly played-out deposits, is all that keeps this society running. There is no infrastructure to speak of here; what was here has long rusted to uselessness, or been scavenged. Most residents live in various forms of mobile conveyances, holding several individuals and their personal effects. Theirs is a hard, dangerous life, one they are apparently proud to endure.
Once every three months or so, a single small freighter makes a call to the world, dropping off supplies and picking up the result of these miners’ efforts. Thyoph’s distance inside the primary star’s jump limit is another major factor limiting stellar traffic to the system. Other than this ship, there are almost no visitors to the world.
