Caly Riima (Cay-lee Ree-ma) is a minor, low technology system. Located near a main trade route, the system sees some traffic from local merchant fleets, though not enough to warrant improving the local starport; the expense of such an endeavor would be too great for the local economy to bear currently. Caly Riima’s industries do manufacture a wide variety of materials, which are surprisingly less expensive to manufacture here than on nearby worlds. These products are shipped via scheduled runs, though there are occasional cargoes available for purchase or contract shipping for smaller lines or independent operators.
The local system itself has very few planetary bodies. It is theorized that during the system’s formation the companion star (orbit #8) destabilized the orbits of the inner worlds. There has been interest in colonizing the single planet orbiting this companion star. However, no actual colony has been established; local atmospheric conditions are too dangerous, with local temperatures and humidity being deemed too extreme for human comfort.
