Raaly Hendi is an important, but cold, agricultural world. Most of the world’s arable land is located in the temperate zone near the equator, and is used for farming. Ranching activities are pursued outside of the temperate zone, using cold-adapted lifeforms which were imported centuries ago, or compatible (edible) native life.
Raaly Hendi’s quality starport is small, but does include an orbital component. This orbital facility is mainly used by large ships, and freighters which carry the world’s abundant agricultural exports to nearby high population systems. The shipyard does not construct starships, but does perform extensive maintenance and repair activities.
Starships over 500 displacement tons are not permitted to land on Raaly Hendi; service to the surface is provided by a sizeable fleet of local shuttle craft. Refueling in the local seas is also forbidden, and would be dangerous in any case, as there are extensive sheets of ice covering the waters, or unpredictable ice floes in most other (open) areas.
