Bundazuno (Boon-de-Zoo-noh) is an important society on a poor world – poor due to a lack of water. There always seems to be a shortage of ‘something’ the citizens need, even with the world’s lower population level (a mere 14.6 million) and decent technological capability. There just isn’t enough of an atmosphere to grow food here, and most of the world’s small oceans are heavily tainted with salt.
Otherwise, Bundazuno’s industries are very productive. It is difficult for the economy to NOT be productive, as the system’s few worlds (4 stars, 4 worlds, 3 planetoid belts, and 2 gas giants) are almost literally littered with resources, even though there are only a handful of worlds. Other than the planetoid belt in the system’s secondary star system, which orbits that star a little too close for most miners’ and companies’ liking, the system’s planetoid belts are rife with resources, and produce a lot of ore. Most of this ore is locally processed, then shipped to nearby industrial worlds.
Bundazuno’s shipyard is fairly productive. The ships constructed here aren’t of great quality – though most aren’t terrible, either. Civilian ships constructed here are noticeably of better quality than military vessels, so much so construction of military ships has ground to a halt, other than for local use. As so few military ships are sold these days, there is a small ‘stockpile’ of brand new military ships sitting in parking orbits, waiting to be sold to prospective buyers. It has been rumored these ships could be had for well under the original asking price, possibly half off. While this may be appealing to some parties, it would come at a price, as these remaining ships are also rumored to be some of the most troublesome ships this yard has produced…
